UNSA ARUA DISTRICT TO ORGANIZE PEACE CONFERENCE AHEAD OF THE POST PRIMARY GAMES TO CURB STUDENT'S UNRESTS

The district secretariat has passed a resolution to organize a peace conference as the dates for Arua District post primary football and netball draws closer to avert instances of student's unrest during the games. This resolution was passed by the District Executive Committees (DEC) on Saturday 9th March, 2019 at Mvara Secondary School during the orientation.

According to the District Chairperson Drito Bob, he said this event will help to address the issue of strikes during the football and netball season and hope to have a panel discussion with facilitators drawn from various agencies such as the Police, Government heads within the District of Arua and other stake holders to help address the student leaders who in turn will go ahead and share this spirit to the other student leaders.

Kokole Isaac, General Secretary to the District believes bringing in the Head Prefects, Head Girls,Disciplinary Prefects & UNSA Speakers and Chairperson for this conference will help a lot to bring in peace during the games.

The district secretariat therefore agreed to held the peace conference on Sunday 24th March 2019 at Arua Public Secondary School just days ahead of the kick off for the District Competition Slated for 27th March 2019.
According to the District Coordinator, This event for action will bring in harmony during the games and thus pledges to support the District Executive Committee to push for the event.
